Why you should consider intervention

Why you should consider intervention

An intervention is a process – not a single event.  Our intervention methods are based on the original Johnson Institute intervention model.  We believe that addiction to alcohol or other drugs is a brain disease that affects not only the chemically dependent person but everyone within the family system –  physically, mentally and emotionally.  We guarantee that every person involved in our intervention services will benefit from the education and knowledge that we offer.  We also guarantee that change will occur.

Most interventions consist of a minimum of three sessions and we use a specially trained interventionist who is part of the NCADD National Intervention Network.

At LifeWork, our role extends beyond the initial intervention to include recovery treatment for the dependent person and family counseling for the co-affected members in the household. Certified drug and alcohol counselors with years of clinical experience offer individual counseling in an out-patient setting. Family systems counselors provide psycho-education and counseling services to help family members learn how to modify boundaries and behavioral patterns that reinforce the addiction cycle.
