Life After Divorce
Reclaim. Rebuild. Reimagine
Divorce changes more than a relationship. It can affect how you experience yourself, your family, your relationships, your everyday life—and the future you thought you were building.
Life After Divorce is a nine-session, professionally led program designed to help you understand what has changed and move forward with greater clarity, intention, and choice.
It Can Bring A Lot of Changes
Divorce can disrupt nearly every part of life—not just the relationship. Roles and routines change. Friendships and family relationships may shift. Parenting can become more complicated. Financial realities may look different. Even your sense of self and future expectations can feel uncertain.
That is why recovering from divorce involves more than simply “moving on.” It involves understanding what has changed, deciding what still matters, and gradually building a life that feels like your own.
A Different Kind of Divorce Recovery
Life After Divorce is not a traditional divorce support group focused primarily on telling the story of what happened. While there is room to acknowledge grief, anger, betrayal, uncertainty, and loss, the program is designed to help you understand how divorce has affected your life—and what you want to do with your life from here.
Across nine sessions, participants work through a practical three-part process: Reclaim. Rebuild. Reimagine. Each phase addresses a different part of creating a meaningful life after divorce.
RECLAIM
Understand what changed, how the marriage shaped you, and what you want to reclaim as your own—including your voice, your perspective, and your ability to trust yourself.
REBUILD
Create a life that works for you now. Strengthen relationships and boundaries, establish greater stability, and learn to respond differently when old patterns are still being invited.
REIMAGINE
Take what you have learned forward. Clarify how you want to live, love, and relate—and begin making choices that reflect the life you want to build from here.
Making Sense of What Changed
Divorce can change how you see yourself, your relationships, your future, and the life you thought you were building.
You may be wondering how to make sense of all the things that are changing, including things you didn’t expect.
Life After Divorce creates space to understand those changes–and to make thoughtful decisions about what comes next.
What Will We Work On
Each session focuses on a different part of life after divorce. The program moves intentionally from undestanding what has changed, to rebuild the parts of life that need attention, to considering how you want to live and relate going forward.
RECLAIM - Sessions 1-3
1. The Life That Changed
What actually changed when the marriage ended?
2. The Self Within the Marriage
How did being in this relationship shape who I became?
3. Reclaiming Your Own Voice
What do I trust myself to know, choose, and decide now?
REBUILD - Sessions 4-6
4. Building a Life That Works for Me
What does a life that works for me now actually look like?
5. The Relationships in My Life Now
Who belongs in my life now—and what do I want those relationships to look like?
6. Changing the Pattern
How do I respond differently when old patterns are still being invited?
REIMAGINE - Sessions 7-9
7. Going Forward, What I’m Taking With Me
What have I learned about myself, relationships, and the way I want to live going forward?
8. How I Want to Love and Be Loved
What do I want to understand about myself before I decide what love and partnership will look like going forward?
9. My Life Ahead
What do I want my life ahead to reflect about who I am now?
Is This Program Right for Me?
Life After Divorce may be a good fit for you if you are separated, going through a divorce, or adjusting to life after divorce—and you are ready to give some thoughtful attention to what comes next.
You may have initiated the divorce, or you may not have wanted it at all. You may feel relieved, angry, grieving, uncertain, hopeful—or some combination of these. There is no single way you are expected to feel before joining the program.
What matters most is a willingness to look honestly at how divorce has affected your life, learn from your experience, and begin making thoughtful choices about how you want to live going forward.
This program may be especially helpful if you…
- Feel that divorce has affected more areas of your life than you expected.
- Want to better understand who you became within the marriage and what you want to carry forward.
- Are trying to rebuild stability, routines, relationships, or a clearer sense of direction.
- Want to strengthen your boundaries and respond differently to old relationship patterns.
- Are working to trust your own judgment and decisions again.
- Want to think intentionally about the life—and relationships—you want going forward.
This program may not be the right starting point if…
- You are currently experiencing a crisis that needs more immediate or individualized support.
- Concerns about safety, threats, stalking, coercive control, or violence are your primary concern right now.
- You are having significant difficulty managing day-to-day responsibilities because of emotional or mental health concerns.
- Alcohol or substance use is currently making it difficult to participate consistently or safely in a group.
Your primary goal is to resolve conflict with your former spouse, change their behavior, or use the group to support an ongoing legal conflict.
You are looking primarily for legal, financial, or custody advice rather than a professionally led divorce recovery program.
You are not currently able to commit to regular attendance and respectful participation in a confidential group setting.
Not sure whether the timing is right? That’s okay. As part of the enrollment process, you’ll have an opportunity to speak briefly with one of the group leaders. Together, you can consider whether Life After Divorce is a good fit for what you need right now.
What Should I Expect?
Life After Divorce is a structured nine-session group designed to provide both thoughtful conversation and practical work. Each session combines guided discussion, clinically informed teaching, personal reflection, and exercises that help you apply what you are learning to your own life.
You will not be expected to share everything about your divorce or tell your story in detail. Participation matters, but so does personal choice. The goal is to create a respectful environment where you can learn from the program, reflect on your own experience, and benefit from being with others who are also navigating life after divorce.
